Improved Source Magnetics Reduce Beam Curl
A range of new sources have been introduced which incorporate a significant change from the traditional magnetic field design, providing a much straighter beam path through the melt material, thus increasing the usable portion of the melt inventory and producing a more uniform and predictable evaporant cloud. These sources can be supplied with the optional Arc-Suppression or self-sealing cover plate.

Model 294 "Straight Shooter"
This new 10 kW production source offers crucible sizes to 6 x 40cc or a 475cc trough, with the improved magnetics. The addition of the optional Arc-Suppression feature makes it an ideal choice for ion assisted optical coating processes. When equipped with the optional self-sealing cover plate, it is an ideal choice for lift-off processes where gold or other materials tend to migrate between pockets.
